Rave Reviews
'Now here's something to get you up in the mornings. Kicking K kicks with the velocity of a bazooka rocket and fair burns up the turntable. It's a glorious racket; muscular pop power and a beat hit as regular as a starters gun. Play often enough and you will be brainwashed by the perfect chorus hooks on display!' Alexander Havering (Q)
'Kicking K kept me bouncing along from beginning to end, what an excellent hit!' Leslie J. Bialik (Rolling Stone)
'The London five-piece have released an infectious track in an attempt to get the nation singing along to their brilliant choruses.' Daisy Boorman (DIY Magazine)
'Girls Like Him is cool and using some Beach Boys-esque harmonies to full effect!' Richard Archer (Hard-Fi)
'If The Killers had one more cappuccino in the morning they may well write a barnstormer like this.' Ed Spencer – ARTROCKER

Lead track KICKING K is a throbbing hook-fest of a song, and is backed up by the more brooding GIRLS LIKE HIM. The third track on the single INSIDE MY FACE was written for BBC 2 Comedy show IDEAL - and sees the band mashing up their own blend of MIA & The Fall. The band successfully promoted the launch of the single in London before mini tours of Italy and Hungary in October and December, 2011.
Junkstar are performing with the Hoosiers on March 24th 2012 at Club Surya in London, and are touring Hungary and Germany March-May 2012. In addition, they are gearing up for a USA tour in June, and trying to keep their UK fans happy with the occasional festival performance too!

BAND HISTORY (THE BITS WE THOUGHT WERE IMPORTANT!)
JUNKSTAR'S debut single MAGAZINE was released to a native London buzz in 2010 and the band toured the U.S.A. and Europe at break-neck pace on the back of it. The band notched up some great support shows with bands including Supergrass, White Rose Movement, Kate Nash, The Killers, Athlete, The Drums, Fight Like Apes and King Adora.
Playing with acts including The Killers, Supergrass, Ting Tings, White Rose Movement, Kate Nash, Athlete, The Drums, Fight Like Apes and King Adora, the band began to forge a reputation on their edgy live performances.
Crowd favourite BLUEBOTTLES got a white label release and was backed by the BBC & KERRANG! - it also featured bizarrely on the BBC's Newsnight! Played by KISSY SELLOUT and PETE TONG, the release saw the band at the forefront of the electro fidget genre in the UK.

Having gained the support of XFM, BBCRadio1, 5&6, Kerrang! & other regional radio in the UK & USA, BBC6 and Levi's 'ones to watch' act JUNKSTAR are now putting together a debut album.
Press Cuttings and Reviews...more Raves!
Lynda Burke (NME) "Thundering beats and sweet melodic riffs. Junkstar are a class act destined for great things."
Alex Baker (Kerrang!) "Junkstar have a great trashy electro sound plus a hidden darker metal edge!"
Matt Sweeney (thekidswantreview) "Junkstar put me in mind of a hybrid bastard child of The Strokes & Lady Ga-Ga - brash, catchy and never dull. If I was a gambling man I would wager invisible and kicking k could be hit songs off their debut album, which according to their website is due for release sometime in 2012."
Alexander Havering (Q magazine) "Junkstar's music shakes and wriggles within a self-defined aesthetic that's perfectly suited to tales of city life, reflective consciousness and the dirtiest of deadly sins." (5 out of 5 – Magazine E.P.)
Simon Williams (Club Fandango) "This band rocks - with wings!"
Ace (Skunk Anansie guitarist - DJ JUICE FM) "Shiny, excited people with big ambitions to prove themselves with brilliant big songs and big personalities!"
Lisa Parker (Band Republic) "This 5 piece band come together to frame an explosive sound made up of superb musicianship and a striking frontman."
Mark (Losingtoday.com review) "Bluebottles purrs and prowls amid a swirling backdrop of buzzsaw hip shimmies, fizzing bass gridlocks and the kind of aurally amorphous adrenalin accelerating armoury that leaves you hooked, transfixed and literally panting in its hypnotic wake."
Chris Hawkins (BBC6Music) "Think full-on, catchy pop songs! There's something a bit special about this north London five-piece."
Thomas Radiovic (Black Velvet)"If the Ting Tings had balls they would sound like Junkstar!"
Graham Duff (BBC IDEAL writer/performer)"Trashy, bruised art pop of the highest order."
Keith Davis (ukmusicreview.com) Magazine "I.... like it..... I LOVE IT... what a fantastic sound!"
Andy Slade (PIT VIPER records) "über-catchy - like an energetic mix of Scissor sisters, Mika and the B-52s! VERY HOT!"
